The band has been assembled. (BLUE GENE)0

If you don’t know Steve “SK” Kennedy then you should get to know him. He is the most legendary human being on the face of the earth. Especially in our hometown of San Clemente where he reigns close to supreme.

SK had a Wipeout from Tanner Gudauskas on Vimeo.

An iconic individual known for his greaser sense of style and tack sharp video footage SK runs deep! After a crowded day at our local surf spot in town, we were left frustrated and confused. Did we really just see SK get burned by a little grom?! Whoa. Things had to change. So we did what every frustrated groupie surfer would do.

we started a band. Blue Gene to be correct. We completed a hit, and we sold out. Simply put, we hope to change the world. If thats not attainable then we just hope to change the lineups of our local spots. Put SK back on top! So here is to you SK, its a rock song for you from the New school band Blue Gene!

Picture 13

Photo: Sean Rowland!

Dane gudauskas brought out his magic 6’10” yesterday to advance through a tricky sunset round of 128 heat. It reminded me of the beginning. The beginning of the3tree.com that is. When Dane and I met with a flip cam to catch a glimpse of the magic that is known as Dane “dog”, “damus” Gudauskas. Please watch the video and enjoy thoroughly!

NELLY SPEAKS OUT!!!1

Nelly’s Voicemail from Tanner Gudauskas on Vimeo.

Picture 5

After getting in from our morning Sunset session we each had a fresh voicemail in the inbox from none other than Dave “nelly” Nelson. Nelly is notoriously known for his heckling and epic flash photography. He gave us a piece of his mind after shooting another rocky point session without us in the lineup though. After our Haliewa heats the boys and I have dedicated all our time to figuring out sunset’s lineups and waves. Nelly had to speak out! Hope you enjoy this voicemail as much as we did! Thanks nelly!!

On the eve of great things.0

Howdy y’all. I am writing a blog today out of boredom and frustration. Today mother nature set her unruly ways upon the north shore and left those who didn’t have the extra big surfboards on the beach. Or in their respective houses…either or. On dark this morning we anticipated a sunset session but were left by the wayside when we saw that it was washing through the kammies channel. We ventured down to pipeline and saw Balaram Stack grab acouple. He was the only guy out, it was pretty cool to see. and now I am here watching dark move towards the beach. Since my heat at Haliewa I have been chomping at the bit to get back into the heat situation. Picture 9I think it is more that I want to know either way how this is going to work out. I am 16th place on the bubble  which gives me the opportunity to jump into a qualifying position if I can put together a result at sunset. I am super stoked on the opportunity to give it hell. To qualify there would be the ultimate dream story. One that was taken from my brother last year. I have his words of wisdom this year and hopefully that will help to fuel the fire that already burns deep. I can’t tell whether it is the massive swell pounding at my doorsteps or the aniticipation of the sunset event but I have been sleeping lightly at night! Wish us luck out on the massive lineup at sunset in the upcoming days. We have been surfing there every day as much as possible to get comfortable. Either way its been fun to get on the big boards and get down to the pocket gouges!!!! stay tuned! much aloha from the islands. Enjoy these photos. Picture 10Picture 11

P.S. The only music that I have been listening to before heats to get as psyched as I can possibly get would be Fleet foxes “blue ridge mountains” and ZZ top “Brown Sugar”.

And enjoy the pictures of beautiful women. I love beautiful women. They are awesome!!!

Small waves=small board.0

GetAttachment-1So the surf was less than great for the beginning of the Haleiwa event. But still it was fun. The wind was good for the super glue effect with airs. I just wanted to try and do and air in my heat. That was pretty much the only thing I was thinking. I rode a board that was shaped for my brother and I to try out. Its 5 7 and a super rocket. Epoxy to boot! Here is a little highlight reel that I found with some waves on the board. check it out! Click HERE

Pimp my ride, Hawaii edition!0

The boys and Uncle E examine the work ahead

The boys and Uncle E examine the work ahead

Tanner getting surgicalsearch and rescue

This year to the north shore, our beloved ford ranger truck took a dump, a dump in the form of the transmition dropping.  The result… inevitabllly, no more truck.  Our uncle on the south shore of Oahu told us the news, but also invited us to possibly use this uber epic ride, his 72 VW van, for the winters time.  Our uncle is an ultamate handy man, who can pretty much make a fire with his bare hands.  It’s absolutely inspiring to be around.  Our pops is similar in their spirit to fix it yourself, and its something that get’s me going.  Unfortunately for the boys and I, we spend a lot of time on the road, so it’s not always about slowing down and fixing it, as much as it is about getting to the next hot spot, or the next perfect wave.  Today was a refreshing day to “hurry up and slow down”.  The boys and I spent a day on the southshore, emerged in the back and front of this VW van attempting to get her back and ready for the open road.  With the guidance of our uncle, ‘uncle E’, we became mechanics for a day and learned a hell ton about engines, electric wiring, and fuse boxes…  All time!

Foodland… we’ve had enough! Enter Costco.2

Dane vs Stagg ChiliEnough rice for a lifetime!!

aloha spirit and fish are in the aiirrr! It’s only been 23 years of living, 10 years of foodstore shopping, and over a decade in hawaii for us to figure out where they are practically giving away food.  We’ve heard of redcross, we’ve heard of welfare, but none of them are feeding the masses as efficiently or tastefully as this place they call cost co!  for a small 50 dollar donation, you can practically go hog wild in the south shore of Oahu… To boot, they are giving out food every five feet you step in the place… it’s outrageous.  We showed up on an empty stomach, and left with a poi poo round belly kine courtesy of the CO.  Here, we let dog run wild with the rampid proportions and all time low prices.  Sounds like foodland has got some competition after all…
