This is the crowd after Pat’s round three heat against Kelly. It was freaky how many people Kelly still attracts to the beach. coincidental or not, right after the heat was done it began to rain and the chaos of the mob dissapeared back to normality. Pat made some errors with wave judgement that Kelly capitalized on. Pat still had a good first event. As for myself I was dealt a 33rd after a close heat with Freddy P. At the end of the day though, I was stoked that I made my plan on the beach before the heat and stuck to it throughout the heat. Mainly I wanted to be on the best waves of the heat, and we analyzed that it was the second wave of every set from deep that really was working on the bank.
As for now, we just dropped dane damus off at the airport for a photo trip that he is going to go on. Pat and I are gonna hopefully be on a scorefest with Nelly and Graham Nash for clips and photos. Contemplating going deep south to find some wedgies or checking out straddie. I’ve never surfed it and would be pumped to see it do its thing.
Rain or shine. In terms of weather its been a seasaw battle of staying dry and blazing in the sun! One second you are enjoying a cool goldcoast breeze, the next…down pour. haha. I think it has taken its toll on the health though because I am feeling like I have developed a minor flu. Berocca here I come!!!!
